A new order is emerging

Sabre awards

This evening's Sabre awards have just announced their gongs, and from the winners, you can clearly see a new order emerging.

Gone are the days which I have spent most of my career watching, where corporate agencies regurgitating the same old formula are winning accolades for it. The Holmes Report Sabre Awards for best specialist consultancies have gone to a group of agencies that I think are shaking up the comms industry, and it's exciting to be part of. (We're not quite in award-entering territory just yet here at Battenhall, we've only just completed a year in business, but it's inspiring to see change coming about in the award-winner lists.)

We Are Social has picked up best digital agency, beating Edelman and Ogilvy. Seven Hills has picked up best corporate shop, beating Blue Rubicon and MSLGroup, and Hope & Glory has nabbed the new agency award. There are still some old-order firms in the winners list, like Burson Marsteller, Brands2Life and Finsbury, but the changing of the guard is clear to see.

It's exciting to see a new kind of agency winning big. Long may it continue. Well done all, even you old fashioned types 🙂
