Battenhall named 2021 global social media agency of the year

It's been a week to remember for Battenhall with two huge pieces of news coming in quick succession. First, we were awarded Digital Communications Consultancy of the Year 2021 by the PRCA, and a day later we were crowned Global Social Media Agency of the Year 2021 at the Global Social Media Awards. 

It's been a year like no other, but you don’t need me to tell you that. As the world went remote and digital-first, at Battenhall we doubled down on innovation and growth. The result has been a record-breaking year for the team and our business expansion. I’m humbled to be receiving these two awards so early in the year, and I wanted to share a bit about how we've been evolving and what we've been focusing on. 

Future-leaning ways of work
Over the past year, the whole team has worked incredibly hard to stay ahead of the curve, innovating in the way we work, the services we offer, and our approach to health and wellbeing.

In March 2020 we launched Battenhall REACT to our clients, then Total Flexible Working to our team. From lockdown wellbeing packages and home office allowances, to virtual fitness classes and meetings over Clubhouse, we’ve worked hard to bring teams together when we’re so far apart. 

We’re fortunate that we've always had a digital-first approach to work, so when we went fully remote ahead of the first lockdown, the team adapted seamlessly. When the office reopened to limited numbers in a Covid-safe environment in the summer, we adjusted again to the new hybrid nature of work. As we continued to grow, in particular opening up for business in Los Angeles, we had to work even harder to put in place structures to bring new teams together when we’re apart. 

Reinvesting 20% of our time
When teams work together they can achieve brilliant things. So when we had the opportunity to apply Battenhall’s 20% time initiative to our client, NHS England and NHS Improvement, supporting the “Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives” campaign, we went for it. After already winning Best Use of TikTok, Best Public Sector and Best Low Budget campaigns last year, our campaign was also awarded Best Use of Instagram at last week's Global Social Media Awards 2021. We’re buzzing, and couldn’t be happier for our client and the results we achieved together. 

What's next?
