Battenhall Design Team: Here London

Here London is an annual convention bringing together some of the best art, design and technology talent from all over the world. This year, Battenhall’s design team had the privilege to attend and enjoy an array of talks that ranged from sculptors and MTV’s visual storytelling VPs to architectural collectives, filmmakers and NYTMag design directors. There were lots of activities to get stuck into in-between the speakers that got our creative juices flowing! As well as these, there were plenty of delicious snacks, drinks and goodie bags available, courtesy of event organisers It’s Nice That.

One of the first WhatsApp marketing campaigns

You may have read about the social messaging boom in our previous blog posts and we are slowly but surely seeing brands pick up on the trend in creative ways. It's not easy integrating WhatsApp into a marketing campaign, so whenever a brand does it and does it well, it catches our eye. Late last year we saw Absolut holding a party for Absolute Unique and they wanted to make it special.

The launch party was announced on their Facebook page with a notice telling wannabe attendees to convince the doorman Sven to give access to the party - through WhatsApp! This simple but effective use of WhatsApp saw high numbers of Argentinians trying to blag their way into the party in lots of creative ways, including bribery and some indecent proposals. You can watch the video here. Hats off to Absolut for thinking this up. We're looking forward to seeing more campaigns like it this year.

New app prints photos direct from SnapChat

Little Snapper

We're always on the lookout for ingenious ways of using the social networking app of the moment, SnapChat. We like this new one a lot which caught our eye today as we have two Little Printers adorning the desks of Battenhall HQ.

A UK-based developer has created an app for the BERG Little Printer called Little Snapper that allows you to print Snapchats direct. PSFK has an explanation of how it works here.
