Twitter has stepped up its game, last night spending $100m acquiring Tap Commerce, a company that uses technology that can target Twitter users with ads inside tweets. This potentially heralds a future of in-tweet commerce, something consumer brands will be interested to explore.

This is linked to other news also out last night that Twitter has been spotted testing out new 'buy now' buttons in tweets. The new functionality has not gone live across the service, rather they have just been an experiment in Twitter Card functionality for an online retailer.
